IPDI CONDEMNS MILITARY KILLINGS IN UGBUWANGUE, ATTRIBUTES IT TO GOV. OKOWA UNSAVORY MOVEMENT RESTRICTION ORDER, WANTS KILLER MILITARY PUNISHED
Our attention has been drawn to the military barbaric Killings of yet to be ascertained figures in UGBUWANGUE, WARRI Southwest LGA, Delta State. We attribute the gruesome killings to the unsavory lockdown order by the governor of Delta State, his excellency senator Ifeanyi Okowa.
It is appalling that Nigeria has turned a banana republic where lives are cheap and brute. We are surprise at the level of violation of human right by the Nigerian military in the name of enforcing the sit at home order of the Delta State Government.
We are not prisoners, so you don’t expect total compliance of the movement restriction order, especially when you failed to make preparations for the poor citizens before the shutdown of the entire state. It is better to die by coronavirus pandemic than to be shut inside house like prisoners and die by hunger.
We foresaw this and we earlier warned against it. But it was very unfortunate that agents of Government who ought to be responsible for the safety of lives and properties are found to be the law breakers. This is inimical as violation of the sit at home order is not an enough reason for harmless youths to be killed unlawfully.
The governor of Delta State ,his excellency senator Ifeanyi Okowa should be held responsible for the killings of yet to be ascertained figures in UGBUWANGUE, WARRI, Delta State.
The military who pepertrated the barbaric Killings be investigated and be made to face the wrath of the law for the gruesome sheer murder.
