IGNATIUS AJURU UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION STUDENTS LAMENT OVER POOR E- LEARNING AND EXAMINATION

Amidst the current partial lockdown in Rivers State, the Vice Chancellor of Ignatius ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt, Prof. Ozor Mercury Ndimele, has, last week, released an E-Examination timetable, which has caused panic in the University Facebook page.

Most students in the platform, especially the final year students, took it upon themselves to do a social media protest tagged; “SayNoToE-examination”.

According to the students, the bases for their protest against E-Examination include; poor database system in Nigeria, poor network, inability of all student to afford an android device or computing device, not all student can afford frequent mobile data.

Some students also took it upon themselves to write a letter of appeal to the Vice Chancellor. In the reply of one of such letters to the Vice Chancellor, he said; “Not everyone must go to school, if you can’t afford it, go learn a trade”.

On commencement of the E-Examination, most students are unable to answer all questions due to the poor network system; this has also led to panic in the minds of the students as, no one would want to have an extra year in course of study.
