Blame it on John Wick! A man identified as Getro Gelin has claimed that guns found in his Porsche SUV belongs to his cousin “John Wick.”
Police visited the Florida man in his Port St. Lucie home on Sunday after receiving a complaint against him from a woman who claimed shoved her to the ground and threatened her with a firearm.
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by The Smoking Gun, the 27-year-old allegedly stashed the weapon in his car. Police discovered a Glock 21 pistol, a semi-automatic rifle, and a bulletproof vest when the car was searched.
When questioned about the guns, he explained that the SUV wasn’t even his anymore as he had sold it “to his cousin John Wick.”
He later admitted the John Wick reference was a lie, but “would not reveal his cousin’s name,” authorities said.
The police report stated: ”
Deputy Deblieck ran the VIN number to the vehicle, which revealed the vehicle belonged to Getro Gelin. Gelin wa again asked for consent to search the Porsche SUV, which he consented.
“Inside the rear compartment of the Grey Porsche SUV, Deputy Paterson located a Black Glock 21, a black semi-automatic rifle and a Kevlar Vest.
“Deputy Loupe asked Gelin why the weapons were found in the Porsche SUV that belonged to him. Gelin replied he had sold the Porsche to his cousin John Wick. Gelin stated he lied about the name, but that he would not reveal his cousin’s name.”
Gelin was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and domestic battery, according to the report.
He is being held in the county jail in lieu of $3,500 bond.
