By Udofa Godwin

Days are chilly and nights are colder,
This pain tears through me and to lean on, I find no shoulder,
Summer’s warmth, I felt yesterday
Howbeit Autumn’s fall, drowns me today.

The Sun is gone and clouds of tears fills the day
The constellation, the only beauty in my dismay
My arms long for daily for you
But my heart bleeds from this fall

The trees stand bare, my heart feel faint
The leaves all gone, your promises taint
Black birds cry at the memory of us
You took away Summer and gave Autumn’s fall
